Pannben
Pannben the race is a team competition, in pairs. Throughout the entire race you carry a heavy burden and fight your way past 10 tough challenges. Getting through the competition requires strong determination — but everyone can do it!
About the competition
Pannben is a pairs competition designed to push your limits and challenge your determination. The course is approximately 10-13 km long and contains 10 challenges. The challenges are physical but also include some puzzles. All challenges have instructors who explain the challenge and what is required to pass.
Competition format
The pair must together move a heavy weight around the course. This means that Pannben is not primarily a running race. Everyone can participate but a decent basic fitness will make the day more enjoyable. Maximum race time is 6 hours. There are 200 team spots available, when these are filled we close registration.
Important dates and times
Mandatory pre-race briefing: On June 5th at 18:00 we go through the course and instructions at Aktivitetsfabriken in Hudiksvall. At least one participant per team must attend.
Clothing and equipment
Clothing is optional except for the race shirt which is mandatory to wear throughout the competition. Participating in Pannben means you will get tired, wet and more or less dirty. The pair must have a charged mobile phone with the race director's number saved in case of injuries. Protect your phone in a waterproof pouch or plastic bag. A backpack with fluids and energy replenishment must be carried during the race.
Safety
There are safety personnel, officials and ambulance staff on site during the competition.
Start times and race end
First start time is 08:00, followed by rolling start times. Total time starts when the pair starts and stops when all challenges have been completed and the pair has made it around the course. The course closes at 18:00.
Awards ceremony and dinner
There will be a grand awards ceremony and dinner at 19:00 at Aktivitetsfabriken, with great prizes for the top-placed teams. All teams also have a chance to win great prizes awarded by sponsors for each challenge.
Transport and rules
Transport around the course is on foot. NO types of aids are allowed. Each team must carry their "heavy burden" together.
